An Education with a Budget-Enhancing Objective

A training workshop on improving municipal budgeting was held in Hadzici municipality.

A one-day educational workshop on municipal budget planning enhancement was hosted yesterday by the OSCE in Hadzici.

The workshop was held for all budgetary and financial municipal officers in the Municipal Council, as well as senior municipal officials.

Aida Besic, the OSCE Spokesperson, said that the OSCE is hosting such workshops for the municipalities with budget and finance department and whose representatives expressed aspire to such training in this field, as well as for municipalities where the OSCE assessed that such training was necessary. The project implementation began in April, as did the OSCE’s hosting of these workshops across BiH. So far the workshops were held in Foca, Cajnice, Kalinovik and Hadzici, and others are planned to be held in Novo Sarajevo and Ilidza.

Around 12 municipal representatives are attending the workshop; they are being trained on the best way to distribute and secure funds for certain projects. The main training objective is increasing of budget planning efficiency between the municipal executive power and the MC, so that the MC can make decisions in the best interest of a particular municipality, Besic said.
